I can help you

I am a fully qualified and registered nutritional therapist. I have a MSc in Personalised Nutrition and a DipHE in Nutritional Science. I am full member of BANT and registered with the CNHC and IFM.

As a registered Nutritional Therapist I practice functional medicine  which means that I believe in order to achieve wellness, you must first establish the cause of the imbalance. Treating the symptoms do not alleviate the problem, it is merely like putting a plaster on a dirty wound, whilst you can’t see the dirt,  it is still there. By establishing the interwoven web of mind, body and spirit, it is possible to piece-by-piece rebuild the imbalances causing disease and dysfunction.

Why women’s nutrition?

Throughout life women will encounter various physical and emotional changes during which the body’s requirements for nutrition will shift in order to cope with their continuing developments. Although good dietary and life style practices are important throughout all stages of life, there are certain periods where it carries more importance.

Nutrition is the cornerstone of health and what you eat may have a fundamental effect on your health, a fact borne out by medical research and scientific evidence. Food is the body’s natural fuel and is necessary for energy, growth, repair and renewal.

Nutritional therapy is based on the premise that food is medicine and that many medical conditions can be alleviated by making the right diet and supplement choices. It  can also assist in helping you to optimise your health even if you don’t have a specific illness. For women, food can affect specific aspects of our physiology, such as, hormonal health and balance which in turn impacts on our well-being causing symptoms like mood swings, weight problems and issues with menstruation.

There are many female health problems, and most can be triggered by mechanisms such as stress, hormone imbalance, poor gut health, nutritional deficiencies, toxins and many more. By moving towards optimum nutrition and health many women’s health conditions can be alleviated or in some cases eliminated. The main route to good health lies in diet, but there are other lifestyle factors such as environment that can impact on women’s health and these need to be addressed as part of any successful intervention.

Why work with me?

My  scientific approach to nutrition looks at each individual as just that – an individual. My goal is to find the root causes of your problems, using testing and research to try to solve your health puzzle and create a unique treatment plan.

My clients often come to me feeling stressed, exhausted and generally below-par, but cannot work out what may be causing their symptoms. Alternatively they may be facing chronic ill-health challenges and realise they need to take action and make real changes to try to take control of their health. Some of them simply know that prevention is better than cure, and want to optimise their diet and lifestyle so they can be the healthiest they can be.

We work together to agree and implement a personalised health programme with whatever combination of clinical nutrition, dietary analysis, testing, supplementation and support you need. My programmes integrate the latest nutritional science, functional medicine and research into practical strategies, putting you in charge of your health, and helping you make sustainable changes that get lasting results.

Using only proven and effective nutritional medicine and the most up-to-date diagnostic tools, I work with my clients to make changes that provide lasting and meaningful results. This can take place through one-to-one consultations at my clinic or via Skype. (Please see contact page)
